Since 2002, Using a little logic has been developing and tested a platform to assist the Transport Industry to improve the quality of their maintenance standards, which in turn allows them to gain accreditation in the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS – Maintenance Module).
We offer the Transport Industry the following tools
* A generic book-based Equipment Maintenance Management System that offers operators a system that meets the rules of NHVAS & Fuel Tax Credit Scheme, as well as QA style approach with clear instruction at the front of each book.
* A Microsoft Visual Basics.net 3.5 software system ‘ME – Manage Equipment’, which operates with a SQL Server database. This exciting program has been developed by ‘A Little Logic Pty Ltd’ and is available through Using a little logic. The Program assists the operator to control all facets of managing the maintenance and servicing of a busy fleet, without ending up as the usual accountancy style computer system.
* Under-truck document storage containers, which offer a weatherproof environment for paperwork. It not only suits the NHVAS mandatory Daily Check, Fault Report and Intercept books, it can be used to store all types of documents.
* A range of accessory items to assist the operator.
Exciting News
Using a little logic has successfully gained accreditation with the Department of Transport and Regional Services (DOTARS) as an Accredited Vehicle Maintenance Management System under Criterion 2 of the Fuel Tax Credits Rules. This means that an operator that successfully implements the Using a little logic system qualifies for fuel tax credits under Criterion 2.
Future Plans
Using a little logic is in the process of lobbying the National Transport Commission to be recognised as a Private Scheme with the NHVAS – Maintenance Module. Our aim is to put forward a business plan that would be aligned with a previous discussion paper from the NTC titled ‘Carrot on a string’. The business plan would offer the NTC a platform that would attract smaller operator in to alternate compliance without the current price tag involved with accrediting smaller fleets.
